About Jonas Jacobson

I'm a Massachusetts litigator. My work is recovering money and enforcing agreements for clients who were owed and didn't get paid.

Jonas A. Jacobson, Massachusetts business and real estate litigation attorney

My practice

I've been admitted in Massachusetts since 2009 and have run my own firm since then. My practice is litigation: business disputes, real estate cases and appeals, generally where $100,000 or more is at stake. I handle every case myself. When you call, you reach the lawyer who will be writing your briefs and standing up in court.

A solo practice suits contingency work. I don't have a large overhead to feed, so I can be selective, take strong cases on terms that make sense for the client, and see them through to collection rather than handing them off after judgment.

How I work

Straight answers early. At the first review, I'll tell you what I think the claim is worth, what the other side will argue, whether there's anything to collect, and what it will cost. Sometimes the honest answer is that a case isn't worth bringing.

Pressure where it counts. The most effective step in many cases is an early motion for attachment, not a long run of letters. I look for the step that will move the other side.

Through to collection. A judgment that isn't collected doesn't do you any good. I plan for collection from the first day of the case.

$100,000 or more at stake in a Massachusetts dispute?

Tell me what happened. If the case makes sense on contingency, I'll say so. If it doesn't, I'll tell you that too.
